Who are we? Meet our partner – IMST

X-TREME 6G is run by a consortium of 17 companies, universities and research centers who decided to join their strengths and assets within one project to define the future of 6G in Europe, at the unique intersection of microlectronics and telecommunications.

IMST – Inspiring Mobile & Satellite Communication Technologies Innovation is one of the driving forces behind the X-TREME 6G project!

With joy and passion, IMST has been combining its in-depth expertise in microwave technologies, wireless communication, antenna- and chip design since 1992 to shape a radiant future together with partners.

IMST’s enthusiasm for high-frequency technologies and state-of-the-art electronics drives them to search for new solutions to shape the future.

For several years now, IMST GmbH has been working intensively on new 6G technologies in a variety of national and international projects. From antenna design and chip development to baseband signal processing. As a system house for radio system solutions, the company has always successfully offered development services for our customers.

The combination of communication and sensing has become a promising innovation in 6G communication in recent years. In X-Treme 6G, IMST focuses specifically on the interaction between sensing and communication. The development of higher frequency ranges in particular opens up new possibilities here. In the project, IMST provides support in defining the use cases for JCAS and the specifications. In the area of signal processing, IMST deals with the design of resource distribution for JCAS systems with regard to dedicated use cases. As work package leaders, IMST also coordinates the activities in the area of algorithms and signal processing for the various subject areas in X-Treme 6G.

As expressed by Daniel Martini, IMST’s representative within X-TREME 6G –

“In X-Treme 6G, we are addressing diverse challenges in the 6G communication. This is reflected in the diversity of the consortium and the goals of the project. We look forward to actively shaping the future of 6G communication with our partners.”

X-TREME 6G project has received fundings from the Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking (SNS JU) under the Horizon Europe research and innovation programme under Grant Agreement NO 101192681.
