Who are we? Meet our partner III-V Lab
X-TREME 6G is run by a consortium of 17 companies, universities and research centers who decided to join their strengths and assets within one project to define the future of 6G in Europe, at the unique intersection of microlectronics and telecommunications.
What’s the use of the number IV when you can directly switch from III to V ?
As a joint lab between Nokia, Thales and CEA, and composed of 120 researchers, III-V Lab operates from Paris-Saclay (Palaiseau) and from Grenoble. Its expertise focuses on epitaxy, wafer processing, design and modeling, characterization, test and measurement, and advanced packaging, including heterogeneous integration of III-V components on silicon wafers.
In X-TREME 6G, III-V Lab’s activities are supervised by Bertrand Ardouin, whose impression of his implication in our project is the following –
“In X-TREME 6G, III-V Lab will contribute as an InP D-HBT technology access plaform for the IC design partners with the aim to demonstrate superior performance in terms of speed, delivered power and power efficiency for future 6G applications. In parallel, III-V Lab will develop further its technology and will explore the ultimate limits of this exciting Indium Phosphide material for high speed electronics.“
Speed, performance, power, efficiency…enough terms to make us feel the thrill of being part of such a dynamic project, alongside such a dynamic partner!
X-TREME 6G project has received fundings from the Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking (SNS JU) under the Horizon Europe research and innovation programme under Grant Agreement NO 101192681
