Who are we ? Meet our coordinator, ST Microelectronics

X-TREME 6G is run by a consortium of 17 companies, universities and research centers who decided to join their strengths and assets within one project to define the future of 6G in Europe, at the unique intersection of microlectronics and telecommunications.

Let us introduce you to our project coordinator, ST MICROELECTRONICS.

As one of the world’s largest semi conductor companies, ST MICROELECTRONICS acts as X-TREME 6G’s pivotal force, and assists all of the project partners in the realization and delivery of their tasks, with the ultimate goal of building a microelectronic lighthouse in Europe, in respect of sustainable principles, with a strong committment to innovation.

In 2024, more than 50 000 employees worked for ST MICROELECTRONICS, among which 9500 in research and development, across five continents.

As very poetically said by Didier Belot, ST Microelectronics’ representative within X-TREME 6G, and therefore our project coordinator –

In mountaineering, all summits can be climbed; one must carefully analyze the path, prepare well both technically and physically, assemble a competent and motivated team, and at each obstacle, assess the risks and choose the best way to overcome it. Our project is a summit to climb

Let’s climb this mountain, let’s follow Didier!

X-TREME 6G project has received fundings from the Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking (SNS JU) under the Horizon Europe research and innovation programme under Grant Agreement NO 101192681
